Morley St George Weekend 2016 Details

         Come to the Morley St George Festival weekend 2016

                            On Saturday 23rd and Sunday 24th April
 
This year there will be stalls planned for the length of Queen Street with 

• food, 
• drink, 
• gifts toys, 
• jewellery and books. 

 There will be 

• Punch and Judy shows and live entertainment, 
• face painting, 
• fun fair and donkey rides for the children.

Then on Sunday The popular parade, led by St George on horseback, will leave Morley Town Hall at 11.30am to arrive at the Rugby ground at 11.45am where the Lord Lieutenant of West Yorkshire will be present for the Swearing of the Oaths and National Anthem.

Throughout the day there will be many attractions including 

• re-enactments 
• stalls
• music
• stage shows
• fancy dress
• bars and hot food.

The Morley St George Day Service 2016 details

 The St George Day Service On Thursday 21st April at 7:30pm

           At Leeds Minster (formerly Leeds Parish Church)

6.45pm Minster Bells 

Then at 7.30pm Service conducted by Canon Sam Corley

Service is supported by 

• The choirs of the Minster
• Morley Academy 
• Morley Victoria Primary School
•  Morley Operatic Society Saturday Club 
• Gildersome Primary School and the Drighlington Brass Band.

 

Then at 8.45pm The lighting of The Queen’s 90th Birthday Beacon
